Last Dirt'n'Dust Run
What a ride 2023 was—an adventure of epic proportions! Together with our unstoppable participants, teams, and rockstar sponsors, we revved up an astonishing $83,000! Every cent raised by our participants and teams goes straight to Australian Rotary Health for mental health iniatives. Over the last five Dirt n Dust events, we've drummed up a jaw-dropping $356,000 for vital mental health and community initiatives. And hats off to our incredible volunteer dream team, donating their time and energy to make sure the funds raised have a direct impact where they're needed most!
Dirt n dust 2023 wrap up
Day 1: Bunbury to Jennacubbine
Zooming 340km starting with a convoy lap in Bunbury, we kicked off with thick dust, endless rural roads, and brain-busting daily quizzes. After some U-turns and daredevil reversing, the teams landed at Jennacubbine Hall. Shout out to our volunteer crew who whipped up a feast that had us all drooling!
Day 2: Jennacubbine to Nambung Station
420km later and oh boy, did we have fun! Pit stops, BBQ lunches at Jingemia Cave, and a backdrop of wind farms. By nightfall, Elvis (and Priscilla!) made surprise appearances at Nambung Station. The buzz was electric!
Day 3: Ahoy Mateys! Nambung to Sandy Cape
Time for treasure hunting—cryptic clues, hand-drawn maps, and of course, messages in bottles. Off-roading through limestone tracks and sandy dunes, we paused for selfies at the Pinnacles and devoured lobster at Cervantes. Count the km's? Nah, we lost track. Too busy having a blast!
Day 4: Aloha from Sandy Cape to Summer Creek Brewery
Our kaleidoscopic Hawaiian day had us journeying 340km through scenic farmland. After a shower pit-stop (you're welcome, Bolgart Hotel!), we pigged out on a mouthwatering spit roast and took over the karaoke stage. Yeah, Dusters OWNED that night!
Day 5: The Final Lap
Our grand finale had us maneuvering through pot-holes and corrugation, but hey, nothing our dusty bangers couldn't handle! After 1750+ km and a victory lap through Bunbury CBD, we kicked back for a final hoorah.
But hey, let's not forget the unsung heroes—our behind-the-scenes crew. The route masters, the car fixers, and people fixers, the cooks, the tech gurus, and all our other volunteers - your dedication is always the wind beneath the dusty wings!
Here's to doing it all again next October!

HALL OF FAME
Rotary Down Under Article
The Dirt ‘n’ Dust Run is organised by the Rotary Club of South Bunbury. The five-day car challenge takes participants on some of WA’s most dirty and dusty roads. It is not a race, but prizes are awarded for such things as how hopeless a car is and how much the participants embrace the spirit of the event.
Dirty Bangers Bunbury Mail
A four day race along some of the world's dustiest roads. No, it's not the Dakar Rally, it's a South Bunbury Rotary fundraiser for mental health, and they smashed their goal.
South West Drivers brave - South Western Times
