Dirt n Dust isn't just another rally and its much more than just a dirty week away.

Each year approximately 1-in-5 Australians will experience a mental illness and in order to help future generations of young Australians, we need to look ahead through research and wrap around services and find out how we can prevent this type of illness occurring and support those in need. You are also helping support many other programs in the South West of Australia through South Bunbury Rotary.

Manjimup 15,000 Motocross Fundraising

Our last big Dirt n Dust fundraiser for the year was the Manjimup 15,000 Motocross event hosted by Willie Thompson of Dirt High Promotions.

The Manjimup 15,000 was on hiatus last year but returned in 2024 with a bang. Willie needed a coordinator for gate ticket selling, cleaning, flag marshaling, parking attendants and security. I rounded up a group of volunteers who worked tirelessly throughout the weekend [Thursday to Monday] to fill the jobs.

I am very thankful that many of these workers donated a portion of their earnings to Car#25 equaling a tidy sum of $585.00 including some donations in the DnD tin from eventgoers.

Additionally, we were permitted to collect 10-cent containers from the event which was a job in itself.

We are extremely grateful to Tracy, Helen and Karen for processing and sorting the cans into IBC's ready to drop at the Manjimup CFC Collection Depot.

I could NOT have done this without the help of my husband Sam, he didn't go on his annual boys trip to help me and was there from start to finish. He carted stuff, delivered stuff, built fires, placed bins, picked up bins, organised can sorting, delivered IBC's to depot, and generally did a lot of the heavy lifting. Thank You!

Containers for Change

Sunday 21st Apr

This year we have jumped at the chance to join the Containers for Change 10 cent recycling opportunity.

Southern Forests Carwash has hosted our Dirt n Dust bins for several months, with approximately 2000 containers collected per month, and turned into cash for Dirt n Dust.

The Macedonian Community of Manjimup donated their containers from the recent Back to Manjimup event and added valuable funds to our tally.

Thank you to everyone who drops donations to the local depot or collects cans on our behalf.

SF Campdraft Dirt n Dust Canteen

Wednesday 13th Mar

With the support of a long list of family and friends, local suppliers, local primary producers and generous supporters, the Dirt and Dust Run Southern Forests Campdraft canteen catered for three days of meals for the competitors, families and spectators.

I am incredibly grateful for the support and the funds we have raised to support mental health research and services.
